The Four Main Sources Of Islamic Law-1

Basically, there are four sources from which we obtain all our Islamic laws and principles. It is known as "Al-Adillah Al-Arba" (الأَدِلَّة الأَرْبَعَة). Adillah is the plural of the word-Daleel, which means proof and evidence. Arba means four. These are the  four sources which base the formation for every kind of reasoning in Fiqh.

1. The Holy Qur'an

The Qur'an is the first and most important source of Islamic law. It is not only a book of faith and spirituality but it also compasses rules in any given society and basic laws that govern our daily lives. This book has everything mankind needs:

"There is not an animal (that lives) on the earth, nor a being that flies on its wings, but (forms part of) communities like you. Nothing have we omitted from the Book, and they (all) shall be gathered to their Lord in the end." (Al Anaam-38)

The authenticity of Qur'an has never been questioned by any Muslim scholar or institution.
